Our Story

City Signs launched with a simple vision and a steadfast commitment to quality. In the fall of 1997, Greg Kyler opened City Signs in Modesto, California, setting the stage for what would become one of the Central Valley's most trusted sign companies. What began as a one-man operation with modest beginnings has flourished into a thriving business, grounded in hard work, honesty, and exceptional craftsmanship.

From the start, Greg quickly built a reputation that has defined City Signs for decades. Our Leadership

Kevin Pope - President & Owner

Kevin Pope has been a vital member of the City Signs team since 2006, starting as a designer. His natural talent and dedication quickly shone through, setting him apart with his remarkable ability to handle complex, large-scale projects while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Kevin's skills go beyond design; he has also mastered maintaining and repairing the advanced machinery that drives our daily operations.

Now, as co-owner and President of City Signs, Kevin manages the day-to-day operations, focusing on production and fabrication. His hands-on approach and comprehensive understanding of every step in the sign-making process ensure our team works at maximum efficiency while meeting the quality our customers expect. Kevin's leadership blends technical know-how with practical problem-solving, making him an invaluable asset to both our team and our clients.

Outside of leading our production efforts, Kevin loves fishing and enjoys spending peaceful days at the beach. These moments help him recharge and find inspiration for future challenges.

James Campbell - CEO & Owner

James Campbell joined the City Signs team in 2009, starting out as a designer. It didn't take long for his exceptional abilities to shine, as he showed impressive growth in various areas of the business. Not only did James prove himself to be a talented designer, but he also excelled as an effective project manager and a natural leader. These skills led to his promotion to Design Manager.

James's career path at City Signs highlights his versatility and dedication to excellence. From Design Manager, he moved into upper management, where his strategic thinking and leadership skills continued to stand out. His rise to ownership marks the culmination of years of dedicated service and tangible results.

As co-owner and CEO, James brings a deep understanding of the business to his leadership role. His responsibilities cover surveys and sales, where his design background allows him to communicate effectively with clients about their visions and needs. He continues to oversee the design department, ensuring our creative work meets the highest standards while keeping up with industry trends and client expectations. Additionally, James plays a vital role in company forecasting and goal setting, helping to steer City Signs towards ongoing growth and success.

Outside of work, James cherishes the time he spends with his wife and newborn son, finding joy and motivation in his growing family.

Our Expert Team

Anthony Aguilar, our Design Manager, leads our creative efforts with both vision and technical skill. Under his leadership, our design team turns client ideas into striking visual solutions that effectively convey their message, while meeting all technical production and installation requirements.

Monica Farias, as Production Manager, ensures every sign meets our rigorous quality standards. Her expertise in production processes and quality control upholds the consistency and reliability our clients trust.

Jake Wilson oversees our fabrication department, where raw materials become finished signage products. His technical know-how and meticulous attention to detail ensure each sign is built to last, using the best materials and construction methods for its specific application.

Brian Andorfer, our Install Manager, leads the installation team with years of experience in safely and efficiently setting up signage of all types and sizes. His expertise guarantees that every sign is correctly positioned and securely mounted, adhering to all safety and local regulations.

Stefany Pope manages office administration, providing essential support to keep our daily operations running seamlessly. Her organizational skills and attention to detail ensure nothing slips through the cracks in our busy environment.

Our project management team—Amber Abruzzo, Emma Martinez, Randi McIntyre, and Jennifer Blume—brings individual expertise to managing client relationships, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. They serve as the primary contact for many clients, offering regular updates and addressing any questions or concerns during the project lifecycle.

Nick Morrison handles our national accounts, specializing in large-scale, multi-location projects that require coordination across various markets and jurisdictions. Tiffani Worsham, our Permit Expediter, navigates the complex world of local regulations and permitting requirements.
